Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the most frequently asked questions!
1. How does the adoption process work?
The first step is to contact the CCLRR representative listed on the dog's bio. If it's decided you may be a good fit you will be asked to fill out the adoption application. Once approved, we will do a home/yard check to make sure the dog is going into a safe and secure environment. The next step would be to set up a meet and greet with the entire family and the dog. If everyone agrees it's a good fit for the dog and the family the representative will complete the paperwork and collect the fee There is a 2 week trial period in which you can decide if the lab you selected is a good match or not. Please see the How To Adopt page for more detailed information.
2. Is CCLRR a non-profit organization?
CCLRR is a 501(c)3 Non Profit organization (501(c)3 31168 FEIN 68-0463166). All donations are tax deductible.
3. Where do you keep all the available labs?
CCLRR is entirely run by volunteers and our available labs live with foster families (but sometimes have to go into board and train until we have an available foster) in and around the Sacramento-Stockton and Bay Area.
4. Where do the available labs come from?
Dogs enter rescue through a variety of sources. They may be picked up by good Samaritans, abandoned at animal shelters or come from a good home whose circumstances have changed.
